Job Description
The Value Engineer Principal will be a pivotal member of the European Sales Engineering Team, focusing on strategic initiatives in Value Engineering that enhance Vertex's sales process. This role involves transitioning from product-based selling to a solution-based approach, with an emphasis on driving measurable value for customers. The Value Engineer Principal will lead the development and optimization of tools such as the Vertex Value Assessment Tool and the Success Studio Framework, promoting their application across sales engagements to illustrate the tangible and intangible benefits of Vertex solutions. They will work collaboratively with Sales Engineers and key leaders to understand client challenges, facilitate discovery workshops, and tailor solutions that align with customers' evolving needs and value expectations. This role requires a strategic mindset, with the ability to engage both prospects and existing customers in order to position Vertex as a long-term partner in value creation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as an integral member of the European Sales & Value Engineering Team, contributing to the development and execution of value-focused strategies within the sales process.
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives around Value Engineering, supporting the transformation from product-focused to solution-focused selling across the organization.
- Own and enhance the Vertex Value Assessment Tool, ensuring its effective integration into sales engagements, while promoting its usage as a vital tool for demonstrating customer value, including both tangible and intangible benefits.

- فحص استفسارات العملاء للتأكد من اكتمال وجودة المعلومات المتعلقة بمسألة VAT التي يتم الاستفسار عنها، والحصول على المعلومات المفقودة أو التأكد من معالجة القضايا الخاصة بالجودة أو الاكتمال من قبل المحلل المرسل.

Job Description:
This role is responsible for being a VAT compliance and calculation subject matter expert, serving as an interface between Global Support and Tax Research related to customer inquiries concerning our International Vertex products. The position will triage inquiries and attempt to resolve them without the need to escalate them to Tax Research. If the inquiry ultimately requires escalation to Tax Research, ensure that all relevant and complete information is provided. The role will also be responsible for responding to customer tax content issues to develop effective solutions. This position serves as an elevation point for both departments to resolve concerns and will drive continuous improvement in the customer inquiry process between Customer Support and Tax Research.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer inquiries at the jurisdictional, imposition, and transactional level to identify core issues.
- Evaluate customer inquiries by researching and interpreting VAT legislation and VAT reporting obligations with the goal to resolve the issue and mitigate the need to escalate it to Tax Research.
- Ability to interpret VAT legislation and VAT reporting obligations and determine how they apply to Vertex products.
- Knowledge and understanding of VAT legislation and VAT reporting obligations impacting tax calculation and compliance, demonstrating expertise in determining the applicable VAT regime and VAT reporting obligations to resolve and/or triage customer cases.
- Review customer inquiries for completeness and quality concerning the VAT matter being questioned. Obtain missing information or have the submitting Analyst address issues related to completeness or quality.
- Experience with US sales and use tax is preferred.
- Understand and resolve complex customer issues and systems architecture to develop solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate and communicate complex VAT concepts to others in a clear and understandable manner.
- Support a dynamic team environment by collaborating with other departments, contributing time, effort, and ideas.
- Establish effective processes and best practices for knowledge sharing and communication.
