We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with proven experience in a start-up environment, particularly in the car rental or related industry. This role demands a strategic leader who can manage financial operations, secure funding, and drive the company’s financial strategy.
Essential Skills
- CFO Experience: Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a start-up environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional accounting designation (e.g., CFA/CA) preferred.
- Financial Reporting: Strong skills in financial reporting and analysis with experience preparing accurate financial reports.
- Fundraising Expertise: Extensive experience in securing funding from Venture Capital (VC) and Angel investors, including negotiation of investment terms and investor relations management.
- Debt Financing: Demonstrated proficiency in debt financing and managing debt obligations.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a remote finance team.
- Market Knowledge: Knowledge of Middle East market and business practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to present financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Integrity: High level of integrity and ethical conduct in financial management.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in financial software and tools, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support business goals.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely financial reports, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and board discussions.
- Operational Management: Manage daily financial operations, including cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Fundraising Leadership: Lead fundraising efforts, develop investor presentations, and manage investor relationships.
- Debt Oversight: Oversee debt financing processes, including loan applications and negotiations.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a remote team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Financial Controls: Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to enhance operational efficiencies and financial performance.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and key stakeholders.
