Freelance Localization Games Tester (Standard European Spanish Speaker)

Responsibilities:

 Testing video games to identify and isolate localization issues impacting the overall gaming user experience.

Updating text files with all the necessary information to fix grammar or spelling mistakes, consistency issues, mistranslations, and several other types of linguistic problems.

Follow and complete Test Cases and/or Checklists to perform targeted testing and execute relevant testing processes and procedures.

Reporting and verifying issues found during testing using different databases.

Writing bug descriptions following company standards and client specifications.

Working as part of a team, communicating, sharing knowledge and further testing information through provided shared chat channels.

Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned under the project.

Dutch Language Lead

Conduct meticulous linguistic reviews within Smartling translation platform and on actual client's devices and websites to maintain linguistic accuracy and consistency, cultural relevance, and a natural flow in Dutch content of client's product, including on-device apps, Web Dashboard, website, email templates, help articles.

Ensure translations are grammatically, technically, stylistically and culturally correct

Establish and maintain stylistic guidelines to uphold the highest quality standards in all language-related aspects of our products.

Provide linguistic quality feedback to translation vendor and collaborate on linguistic

changes.

Review and implement feedback from in-country team, reconciling translations provided by vendor and feedback from in-country, ultimately proposing best quality and consistent version

Implement ongoing improvements to localized product

Communicate with client's teams (PMs, engineering, QE engineering) as needed

Provide input to client's teams regarding internationalization or design issues or improvements

Qualifications, Skills & Experiences

 Native level of target language

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German

Specialized in the following subject matters: Automotive/Mechanical Engineering

Candidates must also have one of the following:

 · A degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education;

· A certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body.
