QHSE Manager

About the Job

In order to support our growth, we are currently looking for a QHSE Manager to join our team. The position will be based in Brussels (HQ).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, manage, and maintain Q-HSSE-related systems, processes, procedures, and policies for the whole Africa area (all SMT subsidiaries) to ensure that activities meet established standards, customer expectations, and the Company’s requirements.
Provide functional support to SMT management and all ongoing projects.
Ensure comprehensive implementation of HSE processes among subsidiaries to keep them operational and technically fit.
Enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct regular internal audits in each branch or subsidiary in Africa to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Create/source safety instruction materials, such as procedures, manuals, guides, and multimedia resources to support training sessions, in close cooperation with the Mining Business Unit team.
Provide HSE materials and support to answer properly to the prospects & clients’ tenders (especially for Mining Key Accounts); monitor the SLAs and KPIs accordingly.
Analyze and investigate labor/occupational/workplace accidents and incidents, collect data to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
Develop and conduct safety training programs to promote a safe working environment and reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
Prepare and present reports on QESH performance to senior management, highlighting key findings, compliance status, and recommendations.
Maintain the Q-HSSE dedicated SMT Internal Hub and keep it accessible to any SMT employee.
Ensure that the Company Safety rules are properly applied by the personnel within any company premises and among service providers and contractors.
Synchronize efforts with local HSE coordinators to define Q-HSSE-related scope of services and material provision toward dedicated service providers and suppliers.

Profile

Hold a Bachelor/Master degree in a technical field or equivalent through experience.
Demonstrate at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a strong focus on Security.
Fluency in French and English is required.
Experience with Africa within the Mining or Oil Industry is a strong asset.
Eager to travel through our African subsidiaries and raise QHSE awareness.
Autonomous with a true team spirit.
Persistent, resilient, rigorous, and professional in relationships.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong teaching and listening capabilities to support local finance teams.
