About the Role
Design is at the heart of Automattic’s success. As a Product Designer, you will design exceptional products that impact millions of users globally. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, marketers, and customer support specialists to create user-centered designs for products like WordPress, WooCommerce, and Tumblr. If you are passionate about user experience and want to work with a diverse, global team, this role is for you!
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Design: Manage the product design lifecycle from concept to development and optimization.
- Iterative Design: Continuously refine prototypes using user research, market trends, and business goals.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with engineers to deliver high-quality designs.
- Contribute to Open Source: Share your expertise with the larger open-source and design communities.
- Communication: Maintain alignment across teams through written, verbal, and visual communication.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant Experience: Experience in consumer products, e-commerce, WordPress, or site editors is a plus.
- User-Centered Design: Ability to identify user needs and craft clear, actionable solutions.
- Design Proficiency: Experience with design and prototyping tools (Figma), UI and visual design skills, and familiarity with the product development cycle.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate and present your work.
- Flexibility: Ability to work on both low and high-fidelity designs, adapting to the process that best fits the task.
- Remote Work Experience: Familiarity with or eagerness to embrace remote work culture.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $95,000 - $200,000 USD, paid in local currency, depending on location and experience.
