Invitation for Map Navigation LQA Project (Bahrain based Arabic Linguist)

We have an LQA project for a map navigation app, and we are looking for Arabic linguists based in Bahrain to perform in-app text checks. The project details are as follows:

LQA Objectives

Verify whether the user experience of the map navigation app aligns with the language understanding and usage habits of local users, and whether it complies with relevant political requirements, laws, regulations, and cultural taboos in the country. Avoid violating any "red lines" in localization for the relevant countries.

LQA Methods

• Install the map app on a mobile device and follow the operation steps provided by the app to conduct the LQA.
• Review images, videos, etc., provided by the client.
• Conduct research and provide responses to identified issues.

Deliverables

LQA bug report.

Requirements

• Native Arabic speaker with Bahrain nationality OR long-term residency in Bahrain and currently based in Bahrain. Good English level. (Mandatory)
• The linguist should have access to an Android phone for testing. The app needs to be installed on Android phone later. (Mandatory)
• Hold a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience. (Mandatory: provide a redacted copy of your driver's license as proof. The photo should clearly show the issuing country, validity period, and your name; other information can be blurred out.)
• Experience using popular navigation apps in localized contexts. Experience in research-oriented work is a plus.
• Experience in internet app translation or proofreading is preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: BD7.500 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

عن المشروع: لدينا مشروع LQA لتطبيق الملاحة على الخرائط، ونبحث عن لغويين عرب مقيمين في البحرين للتحقق من نصوص التطبيق داخل التطبيق.

أهداف LQA:

• التحقق من توافق تجربة المستخدم لتطبيق الملاحة مع فهم اللغة وعادات الاستخدام المحلية للمستخدمين.
• التأكد من الامتثال للمتطلبات السياسية والقوانين واللوائح والمحظورات الثقافية في البحرين.
• تجنب أي انتهاك لـ "الخطوط الحمراء" في التوطين للبلدان المعنية.

طرق العمل:

• تثبيت التطبيق على جهاز جوال واتباع خطوات التشغيل لإجراء تقييم LQA.
• مراجعة الصور والفيديوهات وما يقدمه العميل.
• إجراء البحث وتقديم الردود على المشكلات المحددة.

المخرجات:

• تقرير أخطاء LQA.

المتطلبات:

• متحدث أصلي للغة العربية من مواطني البحرين أو مقيم طويل الأمد ومقيم حاليًا في البحرين.
• مستوى جيد في اللغة الإنجليزية (إلزامي).
• امتلاك هاتف Android للوصول إلى التطبيق (إلزامي).
• رخصة قيادة سارية مع خبرة قيادة لا تقل عن سنة واحدة (يجب تقديم نسخة محررة من الرخصة تظهر البلد المصدِر ومدة الصلاحية والاسم).
• خبرة باستخدام تطبيقات الملاحة الشائعة في سياقات محلية. الخبرة في العمل البحثي ميزة إضافية.
• يفضل الخبرة في ترجمة التطبيقات أو التدقيق اللغوي.
