Education Requirements
- CERT III in Electrotechnology or above / equivalent
- State issued Electrical License/permit

- Experience in repair and rewind of DC motors, medium to high voltage electrical motors and generators

Mechanical Fitter
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and foot protection)
- Disassemble mechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration, and condition aligned with QA procedures
- Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment
- Carry out mechanical repairs to shafts, journals and housings as required
- Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability
- Measure for or note proper replacement parts. Correctly requisition needed items from stores/purchasing, as approved by Supervisor
- Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical assemblies including: shafts, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, fans, bearing fits
- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties
- Clean mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including: parts, washers, steamers, caustic tanks, grit blasters, etc.
- Understanding and commitment to adhering to operating in alignment with company values, safety, and quality procedures/policies

About The Role
This is a hands-on role to liaise and support customers with onsite repairs and service, together with the supervision of field services personnel, ensuring the day-to-day safe and efficient running of the assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle, inspection, machining, repair and rebuilding of both Sulzer and non-Sulzer rotating equipment
- Field service repairs and/or overhauls in both workshop and client locations
- Supervision of subcontractors, from time to time
- Liaising with customers to compile job reports and represent Sulzer in all aspects of rotating equipment services
- Assist in the production and maintenance of the OSH, Quality and Environment policies and procedures
- Assist in implementing and maintaining ISO accreditation
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Balancing of rotating equipment, and alignment of pumps, motors etc.
