Agricultural Engineer

Job Overview:

An Agricultural Engineer designs, develops, and tests machinery, structures, and systems to improve farming efficiency, sustainability, and productivity. Works on agricultural power, machinery, irrigation, drainage, and waste management systems, using CAD software and data analytics to optimize land use and crop yields.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Testing: Design and test new agricultural machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Systems Management: Develop, manage, and supervise irrigation, drainage, and flood control systems to improve water efficiency.
• Infrastructure Design: Plan and oversee construction of agricultural facilities such as greenhouses, barns, and storage structures.
• Environmental Impact: Assess and minimize the environmental impact of farming operations, including waste management, soil conservation, and pollution control.
• Process Improvement: Use computer modeling and data to optimize agricultural production, increase crop yield, or improve livestock comfort.
• Technical Support: Inspect, diagnose, and fix equipment faults, providing technical guidance to farmers and agricultural businesses.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in CAD (2D/3D), engineering mathematics, fluid dynamics, and mechanics.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of agricultural practices, machinery, and farming systems.
