Resident Engineer (Sewer Schemes)

Job Description

Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including material delivery, contractor schedules, labor resources, and equipment usage.

Review design proposals, work programs, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, payments, variation orders, and claims.

Effectively manage the site supervision staff during construction and ensure all works are carried out according to contract specifications.

Ensure contractors, subcontractors, and workers strictly adhere to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Work closely with designers and architects to ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.

Regularly review progress and status reports, recommending necessary adjustments to meet project requirements.

Provide updates to the client and project team regarding project status, costs, and progress, and request approvals or change orders when needed.

Collaborate with project contractors to recommend innovative solutions that enhance project quality and reduce costs.

Prepare and submit periodic project reports summarizing progress, schedules, and goals to the management team.

Coordinate with Resident Engineers on other projects to align schedules, resources, and solutions.

Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship installed, operated, and maintained on-site.

Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary, including reports from subordinates.

Liaise with clients, project management, contractors, and relevant authorities to resolve project issues.

Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.

Ensure adherence to contract conditions and quality assurance requirements.

Coordinate with clients, governmental authorities, consultants, and contractors as needed.

Consistently enforce internal company processes and policies, including business and contracting procedures.

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Ensure compliance with company health and safety guidelines to protect personal and team well-being.

Work with engineers to solve project design issues, performing basic design calculations when required.

Conduct technical and feasibility studies, as well as site investigations.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, supervision teams, and engineering departments to facilitate the successful completion of tasks and projects.

Civil Inspector

Job Description

Stantec is seeking experienced Civil Inspectors to join our construction supervision team for projects involving stormwater and drainage systems, flood alleviation works, wastewater networks, and water distribution networks. The role includes field investigations, planning, design coordination, tendering support, contract administration, and construction monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

• Interact with clients and contractor staff to identify, verify, and clarify project requirements.

• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate site records.

• Perform civil and structural testing as required.

• Inspect construction activities, including labor and subcontracted work, to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.

• Identify non-conformities, prepare NCRs, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate follow-up.

• Carry out additional duties related to the position as needed.

Teamwork & Collaboration

• Work closely with engineers to resolve design-related issues and perform basic design calculations when required.

• Conduct technical and feasibility studies as well as site investigations.
