ELV ESTIMATION ENGINEER

Job Description

As an ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Estimation Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of projects involving systems such as security, communication, audio-visual, and other low voltage systems. Your expertise will be essential for accurate cost estimation, compliance with industry standards, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for ELV systems, including materials, labor, and overheads.

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to determine project requirements and costs.

Bid Preparation

• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive proposals and bids.

• Review tender documents and suggest strategies to enhance competitiveness.

Technical Support

• Support the engineering team in selecting appropriate systems and solutions based on project specifications.

• Stay up to date with technological advancements and industry standards related to ELV systems.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to collect accurate data for estimations.

Documentation

• Maintain organized records of estimation files, including calculations, quotes, and supplier correspondence.

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and client review.

Risk Analysis

• Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation measures.

• Evaluate design modifications to assess cost implications and feasibility.

Collaboration

• Work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure consistency throughout project stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

• Proven experience in ELV estimation and project management.

• Strong knowledge of ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, intercom, and structured cabling.

• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with local ELV installation regulations and standards.

• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

• Certifications in estimation or related disciplines are an advantage.

Work Environment
