NAVSUP's mission is to provide supplies, services, and quality-of-life support to the Navy and Joint warfighter. We manage supply chains that provide material for Navy aircraft, surface ships, submarines and their associated weapon systems. We provide centralized inventory management of the Navy's non-nuclear ordnance stockpile. We provide a wide range of base operating and waterfront logistics support services, coordinating material deliveries, contracting for supplies and services, and providing material management and warehousing services.
Position Overview
You will serve as a Contract Specialist assigned to the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Centers (FLCs) Contracting Departments, Bahrain Island, Bahrain.

To qualify for this position, your resume must clearly demonstrate sufficient experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role. Specialized Experience (GS-09 Level)
In addition to basic educational requirements, your resume must show at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level (or equivalent in the private/public sector). This experience should include:

Applying procurement knowledge of supplies and services, including developing solicitations, evaluating responses, and making award recommendations.

Performing pre-award functions such as reviewing requirements, determining contract type, method of solicitation, and proposal evaluation criteria to prepare solicitation documents and solicit proposals from contractors.

Communicating professionally and positively by composing clear, concise correspondence and memoranda, providing advice, relaying issues, remedies, and important information to customers while keeping supervisors informed.

Managing contracts from initiation to closeout, including monitoring performance, preparing modifications, resolving performance issues, and closing contracts.

Maintaining contract electronic files throughout all procurement phases—from solicitation, award, post-award administration, to final retention of documents.
