About the Job
The Stock Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, organization, and accessibility of the store’s stockroom. This role ensures optimal stockroom standards, supports stock flow and replenishment, and supervises stock assistants. The Stock Lead acts as the key link between the stockroom, the VM team, and the sales floor, ensuring stock availability aligns with commercial priorities and store operations.
Stockroom Management:

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the stockroom, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization.
-
Coordinate receiving, unboxing, labeling, and storing of merchandise in a timely and accurate manner.
-
Oversee stock replenishment processes in coordination with sales and VM teams to support commercial priorities.
-
Ensure stock segregation by category, size, and product type for ease of access.
-
Maintain detailed stockroom zoning and an inventory-friendly environment.
Team Supervision:
-
Supervise and guide stock assistants, ensuring daily stockroom tasks are executed efficiently.
-
Delegate responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide support and on-the-job training.
-
Foster teamwork and accountability within the stock support team.
Inventory & Documentation:
-
Monitor and report discrepancies in received shipments.
-
Assist in cycle counts and participate in full inventory counts.
-
Ensure all stock movement is properly documented and aligned with internal systems and procedures.
Collaboration:
-
Work closely with the Department Manager – Stock and VM to align on stockroom strategies.
-
Coordinate with VM teams to prepare stock for display, promotions, and visual updates.
-
Liaise with the sales team to ensure fast replenishment and maintain sell-through of key items.
Compliance & Standards:

Ensure all procedures comply with company policies and local health and safety regulations.

Maintain accurate records related to stock movements and transfers.
Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a stockroom or back-of-house retail role; supervisory experience preferred.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to lift and handle boxes and perform physical tasks regularly.

Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
-
Familiarity with stock management systems is a plus.
