Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead our Information Security, Data Governance, IT Risk Management, and Cybersecurity functions in line with Bahrain’s regulatory and legal framework. Reporting to executive leadership and directly interacting with the Board, this role oversees compliance with the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Rulebook (Volume 5), cybersecurity modules, and data protection requirements under Bahrain Law No. 30 of 2018 (Personal Data Protection Law – PDPL).

Team Leadership

The CISO will lead a team including the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Head of IT Security & Audit, ensuring security resilience and regulatory readiness across fintech operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has a strong background in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and data protection, especially within fintech or financial services. Experience interfacing with the CBB and leading certification efforts (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) in Bahrain or GCC is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute company-wide information and cybersecurity strategy aligned with business priorities and CBB requirements.

• Lead and develop the InfoSec team, including the DPO and Head of IT Security & Audit.

• Act as primary contact for regulatory authorities such as CBB, external auditors, and PCI assessors on cybersecurity and compliance.

• Advise executive management and the Board on cyber risk and IT governance.
