With a respected suite of counselling courses, including the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, CLL is seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join its expanding team.

Your Role

Deliver an excellent student experience in counselling and wellbeing education.
Teach on the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills.
Collaborate with a team of professionals to expand the Centre’s counselling, health, and wellbeing offerings.
Contribute to the development of new programmes and support innovation in adult education.
Evening and/or weekend teaching may be required.

Who We’re Looking For

A qualified adult educator with experience teaching counselling skills and theory (especially the COSCA Certificate).
Experience with online teaching is highly desirable.
A collaborative, student-centered professional who thrives in a people-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.

Research Associate

Project Overview:

A post-doctoral Research Associate is required to work with Dr. David Comerford on the Leverhulme Trust-funded project: Accounting for (the loss of) Globalisation in the Economics of Climate Change.

About the Project:

This research explores the interaction between climate change and globalisation. While a globalised economy benefits from the gains of trade, we know from history that periods of economic difficulty are often accompanied by retreats from globalisation. An efficient global economy may be able to make the investments needed to mitigate climate change, but as the climate crisis worsens, economic damage could undermine globalisation.

The project will build a novel climate-economy model, incorporating the economics of international trade, and providing crucial insights for academics and policymakers. The goal is to guide global efforts toward more effective and sustainable economic and environmental strategies.

Human Resources Adviser

Position Overview:

Two vacancies have arisen due to staff members being on maternity leave. Applications are invited for an exciting and challenging role starting from July 2025 for a period of approximately 12 months (exact dates to be confirmed).

Key Responsibilities:

As an HR Adviser, you will provide professional advice and support on a broad range of generalist HR issues to a dedicated faculty area. Your responsibilities will include:

Recruitment and selection processes
Employee relations and HR casework management (disciplinary, grievance, and hearings)
Contributing to University-wide activities such as policy development and HR projects
Engaging with trade unions, committees, and working groups

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience
CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
Proven track record of HR experience at a professional level
Experience handling HR casework, including disciplinary and grievance investigations
Knowledge of pay and reward systems, job evaluation, and equal pay compliance
Experience supporting restructuring activities and consulting with trade unions
Ability to adopt a consultancy style and HR business partnering approach
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
