Join UNDP in Shaping the Future of Human Development

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been an integral partner to the Kingdom of Bahrain since 1971, collaborating on sustainable human development strategies in line with the national reform agenda. The National UNV Specialist will support the development of Bahrain’s third NHDR, focusing on the digital transformation and its impact on human development.

Position: National UNV Specialist – NHDR 2026
Location: Bahrain
Sector: Development, Digital Transformation, Policy Research
Duration: 1-year contract (with possible extension)

Key Responsibilities

Research and Analysis

• Assist in conducting national digital assessments (RIA, DMA, DRA, AIA)

• Support the development of background papers and thematic reports on digitalisation’s impact on human development

• Conduct desk research to gather best practices and international case studies relevant to Bahrain's digital transformation

Project Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

• Organize stakeholder consultations, thematic workshops, and validation meetings

• Liaise with government entities, private sector partners, civil society, and academia to ensure inclusive participation

• Maintain regular communication with Derasat and other key stakeholders for alignment

Administrative and Logistical Support

• Organize project-related events and ensure logistics, participant coordination, and documentation are handled efficiently

• Assist in preparing and disseminating meeting minutes, reports, and presentations

• Ensure proper documentation and organization of project files

Communication and Knowledge Management

• Develop communication materials to raise awareness about the NHDR process and findings

• Assist in drafting press releases, social media content, and other outreach materials

• Facilitate knowledge-sharing activities and document lessons learned

Monitoring and Reporting

• Track progress against project milestones and deliverables

• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports

• Maintain the project risk log and assist with risk mitigation efforts

Requirements

• Passion for human development and digital transformation

• Strong research and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of digital transformation tools is a plus

• Fluency in Arabic and English

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

المسؤوليات الرئيسية

البحث والتحليل

• المساعدة في إجراء التقييمات الرقمية الوطنية (RIA، DMA، DRA، AIA)

• دعم إعداد أوراق الخلفية والتقارير الموضوعية حول تأثير الرقمنة على التنمية البشرية

• إجراء أبحاث مكتبية لجمع أفضل الممارسات ودراسات الحالة الدولية ذات الصلة برحلة البحرين للتحول الرقمي

تنسيق المشروع والمشاركة مع أصحاب المصلحة

• تنظيم استشارات مع أصحاب المصلحة، وورش العمل الموضوعية، واجتماعات التحقق

• التنسيق مع الجهات الحكومية، شركاء القطاع الخاص، منظمات المجتمع المدني، والأوساط الأكاديمية لضمان المشاركة الشاملة

• الحفاظ على التواصل المنتظم مع دراسات، والأطراف الرئيسية الأخرى لضمان التوافق

الدعم الإداري واللوجستي

• تنظيم فعاليات المشروع والتأكد من تنسيق اللوجستيات والمشاركين وتوثيقها بكفاءة

• دعم إعداد وتوزيع محاضر الاجتماعات والتقارير والعروض التقديمية

• ضمان التنظيم السليم لملفات المشروع

الاتصالات وإدارة المعرفة

• تطوير مواد التواصل لرفع الوعي حول عملية التقرير الوطني للتنمية البشرية ونتائجها

• المساعدة في كتابة بيانات صحفية، ومحتوى الوسائط الاجتماعية، ومواد التوعية الأخرى

• تسهيل أنشطة تبادل المعرفة وتوثيق الدروس المستفادة

الرصد والتقارير

• تتبع التقدم وفقًا للمعالم والنتائج المحددة للمشروع

• دعم إعداد تقارير التقدم الفصلية والسنوية

• الحفاظ على سجل المخاطر للمشروع والمساعدة في جهود التخفيف من المخاطر

المتطلبات

• شغف بالتنمية البشرية والتحول الرقمي

• مهارات بحث وتحليل قوية

• مهارات تواصل وتنظيم ممتازة

• إتقان Microsoft Office؛ المعرفة بأدوات التحول الرقمي تعتبر ميزة إضافية
