Dean of Arts and Social Sciences

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Dean of Arts and Social Sciences located in Manama. The Dean will oversee the academic and administrative functions of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Responsibilities include leading faculty members, developing academic programs, ensuring quality assurance, fostering research initiatives, and representing the faculty within the university and community. The Dean will also be responsible for budget planning, resource allocation, and strategic planning to enhance the faculty's growth and development.

Qualifications

Leadership and Management: Experience in academic leadership, strategic planning, and management

Educational Administration: Skills in faculty development, academic program development, and quality assurance

Research and Scholarly Activity: A record of scholarship, publications, and fostering research initiatives

Communication and Interpersonal: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Qualifications: A doctoral degree in a relevant arts of social sciences field, and experience in academic administration

Additional Skills: Experience in international education and familiarity with the higher education landscape in the Middle East is an advantage
