Design Manager - Water & Wastewater (Bahrain)

• Stantec is looking for a Design Manager to join our dynamic team in Bahrain and support our ongoing projects in the region.

• The role involves working on projects associated with wastewater and water engineering. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction management.

• Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage project delivery and execution

    • Project delivery planning and control.

    • Determine budgets, timelines, and cost estimates for project design and construction.

    • Management of project financials.

    • Development of project programs and project execution plans.

    • Internal and external project reporting.

    • Contract management and reporting.

    • Overseeing the Construction phase and liaising with Contractors and Developers.

    • Management of sub-consultants.

    • Quality and HSE assurance.

  • Oversee project technical delivery as part of a team

    • Understanding of client requirements and processes.

    • Managing all stages of the design process from concept to detail design, and tender.

    • Leading the engineering delivery team and managing project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles, and techniques.

    • Review project deliverables, including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, handling project correspondence.

    • Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems.

    • Liaison with different teams to facilitate completion of tasks and projects.

    • Good communicator.

  • Client Service Management

    • Client and stakeholder management, communication, and liaison.

    • Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.

  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies

    • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

    • Design for safety, i.e. Construction Design Management.

  • Other duties as requested to maintain business continuity and development.

CAD Technician

• Stantec is seeking a talented and experienced CAD Technician to join our team in Manama, Bahrain.

• As a CAD Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our design and engineering projects by producing accurate and high-quality drawings and models using computer-aided design software.

• Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and prepare drawings in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, REVIT, or associated programs based on direction and design provided by landscape architects.

  • Prepare detailed drawings, in CAD, REVIT, or associated programs, of proposed plans, facilities, infrastructures, prints of various original plans and records for internal and external company use.

  • Produce drawings for land development projects, base plans, and detailed drawings for landscape projects.

  • Coordinate design projects with urban designers, architects, landscape architects, engineers, and other CAD technicians.

  • Utilize customized tools, utilities, and scripts to automate work processes and improve AutoCAD productivity and efficiency in compliance with company CAD standards.

  • Work as part of a team, coordinating with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations, conducting technical studies and site investigations.

  • Liaise with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate task completion.

  • Client Service Management: Liaison with internal and external clients, building lasting and positive relationships.

  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for safe planning and execution of work.

  • Complete work in line with MWH Core Values and MWH Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
