Regional Controls Engineer
About the job
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of control system projects from their initial planning and conceptual stage through design, implementation, successful start-up, and acceptance by operating management. The design, implementation, and startup of these control systems involve the application of advanced computer/PLC/HMI programming, electrical controls knowledge, and process engineering skills. This position also acts as an in-house consultant to all assigned sites with respect to control system programming, troubleshooting, software, and hardware. Proficiency in PLC hardware/software design and system integration is required. Additionally, ongoing maintenance and obsolescence management at the site level are necessary to manage the region's risk profile for control systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new control systems for capital projects.
- Develop PLC programming and applications under the direction of a Senior Control Engineer.
- Enhance and support existing control systems; 24/7 support may be required for critical situations.
- Develop design specifications and user documentation for control system capital projects.
- Coordinate inputs from project teams (1-6 members from various departments).
- Manage project budgets ranging from minor to $1.0M.
- Specify equipment, obtain cost estimates, generate bills of materials, and expedite purchasing and fabrication of electrical controls equipment in line with SW preferred standards.
- Lead contractors on project assignments through design and installation.
EMEAI Payroll Specialist

In this role, you will work with other payroll specialists supporting multi-country payroll activities, ensuring all data is timely and accurately provided to the outsourced vendor. This position can be remote with occasional travel to our offices in Wokingham, Reading (once every 2-3 months). This role is ideal for individuals with some exposure to international payroll, looking for growth and development. Responsibilities
- Send payroll-related data to local payroll bureaus for processing while adhering to payroll calendar deadlines.
- Ensure vendors accurately and timely prepare earnings statements and wage payments for assigned countries.
- Ensure employees’ net pay payments are made on time.
- Perform peer review and provide backup support to EMEAI Payroll team members.
- Act as the first point of escalation for general payroll-related inquiries and handle operational issue resolution or escalation for the EMEAI Payroll Department.
- Respond to all internal and external payroll-related inquiries, including social insurance and taxation matters.
- Ensure timely responses to all payroll queries, following up with vendors or escalating to the EMEAI Payroll Operation Lead as needed.
Regulatory Specialist EMEAI – Packaging Coatings

For our packaging coatings division, we are actively looking for a Regulatory Specialist (EMEAI). This role can be based at any EMEAI Sherwin-Williams site and reports to the Regulatory Affairs Manager EMEAI.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the food contact safety and compliance of coatings developed and commercialized by Sherwin-Williams Packaging.
- Conduct food contact safety assessments.
- Support technical teams in product development and coordinate compliance testing.
- Evaluate Sherwin formula for food contact regulatory compliance and write food contact and other regulatory statements and declarations.
- Assist in obtaining food contact approvals, which may involve collaboration with external testing institutes, academics, and authorities.
- Represent Sherwin in various European industry associations.
- Provide customer support, especially in regulatory issue resolution.
- Act as an internal advisor on Food Contact, REACH, and CLP-related questions.
- Collaborate with the Product Stewardship group for chemical inventories and product classifications.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a Regulatory or R&D role.
- Chemistry Degree.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Fluency in English is a must; additional language skills are an asset.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
