تم نشر العدد الأول من صحيفة "الايام" اليومية باللغة العربية في 7 مارس 1989، وبعدها تم نشر صحيفة "البحرين تريبيون" اليومية باللغة الإنجليزية في 7 مارس 1997. كما قامت مجموعة "الايام" بنشر مجلة أسبوعية للترفيه باسم "صدى الأسبوع" ومجلة شهرية بعنوان "بانوراما الخليج".
وفقًا لأحدث الدراسات والاستطلاعات التي أجرتها شركات متخصصة، تُعد "الايام" الصحيفة الرائدة والأكثر تداولًا في مملكة البحرين بفضل تنوع الأفكار والمصداقية والتغطية الواسعة للأخبار المحلية والدولية.

كانت "الايام" أول صحيفة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا تستخدم تكنولوجيا المعلومات الحديثة في التحرير والتنفيذ والنشر، وكانت من أوائل الصحف العربية التي أطلقت موقعًا إلكترونيًا على الإنترنت.
