About the Job
Job Purpose
The Airfield Specialist provides expert knowledge and services to support the Assistant Airfield Manager in ensuring efficient and safe airfield operations. This role includes reviewing completed work, ensuring compliance with airfield maintenance and safety standards, and offering technical expertise for airfield construction and maintenance projects. The Airfield Specialist will also assist in planning airfield improvements, offer updates on ongoing projects, and recommend future initiatives. The position includes briefing maintenance and airfield personnel on operations, radio usage, and communication procedures to maintain smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Recommend policies for establishing and improving airfield support activities and airfield management procedures for military and civilian operations.
- Participate in the airfield Foreign Object Damage (FOD) program and evaluate waivers affecting the airfield and flying operations with the Public Works and Safety Departments.
- Prepare a weekly FOD sweeping schedule for Government approval.
- Assist with the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) Program and integrate the Natural Resource Management Plan, updating the program as needed according to NAVFAC guidelines.
- Provide technical assistance to the Assistant Airfield Manager in the event of accidents.
- Attend security meetings related to airfield operations and share necessary information with the NSA Security Officer or Operations Officer regarding airport security, including security projects around and on the airfield.
- Conduct daily visual inspections of airfield areas to prevent unsafe conditions and ensure the continued use of facilities. Identify hazards to personnel, ensure compliance with safety/security requirements, and record unsafe activities or events that conflict with NSA instructions.
- Assist in planning and inspecting airfield improvements, repairs, and ongoing operations, providing technical recommendations to the Operations Officer, Air Operations Officer, and COR on upcoming and ongoing projects.
- Coordinate with flying tenant units to understand flight line support requirements and ensure readiness, assisting with flight line facility issues as necessary.
- Manage airfield driver training administration in partnership with Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA), ensuring all airfield personnel complete necessary training and meet the annual training event limit.
- Develop, maintain, and update daily parking plans to meet airflow requirements and airfield restrictions in coordination with airfield management principles.
Requirements
- A minimum of four (4) years assisting the Airfield Manager in daily airfield operations.
- Graduate of the Department of Defense Advanced Airfield Managers Course or FAA certification (preferred).
- Expert knowledge of military airfield functions.
- Expertise in UFC, ICAO, and FAA Circular Guidelines.
- Strong briefing preparation and presentation skills, especially for large groups and senior officers.
- Ability to prepare and present point/position papers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Active DOD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain.

المسؤوليات

- إعداد جدول أسبوعي لتنظيف FOD للحصول على موافقة الحكومة.
- المساعدة في برنامج مخاطر اصطدام الطيور بالطائرات (BASH) ودمج خطة إدارة الموارد الطبيعية، وتحديث البرنامج حسب الحاجة وفقًا لإرشادات NAVFAC.
- تقديم المساعدة الفنية لمساعد مدير المطار في حالة وقوع حوادث.
- حضور اجتماعات الأمن المتعلقة بعمليات المطار ومشاركة المعلومات الضرورية مع ضابط الأمن أو ضابط العمليات في وكالة الأمن القومي فيما يتعلق بأمن المطار، بما في ذلك المشاريع الأمنية حول المطار وعلى أرضه.
- إجراء عمليات تفتيش بصرية يومية لمناطق المطار لمنع الظروف غير الآمنة وضمان الاستخدام المستمر للمرافق. تحديد المخاطر التي تهدد الأفراد، وضمان الامتثال لمتطلبات السلامة/الأمن، وتسجيل الأنشطة أو الأحداث غير الآمنة التي تتعارض مع تعليمات إدارة الأمن القومي.
- المساعدة في التخطيط والتفتيش على تحسينات المطار والإصلاحات والعمليات الجارية، وتقديم التوصيات الفنية إلى مسؤول العمليات ومسؤول العمليات الجوية ورئيس العمليات بشأن المشاريع القادمة والجارية.
- التنسيق مع وحدات المستأجرين الطائرين لفهم متطلبات دعم خط الطيران وضمان الجاهزية، والمساعدة في قضايا مرافق خط الطيران حسب الضرورة.
- إدارة تدريب سائقي المطار بالشراكة مع أكاديمية الخليج للطيران (GAA)، والتأكد من إكمال جميع موظفي المطار للتدريب اللازم وتلبية حد حدث التدريب السنوي.
- تطوير وصيانة وتحديث خطط مواقف السيارات اليومية لتلبية متطلبات تدفق الهواء والقيود المفروضة على المطار بالتنسيق مع مبادئ إدارة المطار.
متطلبات
- خبرة لا تقل عن أربع (4) سنوات في مساعدة مدير المطار في العمليات اليومية للمطار.
- خريج دورة مديري المطارات المتقدمة التابعة لوزارة الدفاع أو شهادة إدارة الطيران الفيدرالية (مفضل).
- - المعرفة المتخصصة بوظائف المطارات العسكرية.
- خبرة في المبادئ التوجيهية الدورية لـ UFC وICAO وFAA.
- مهارات قوية في إعداد وتقديم الإحاطات، خاصة للمجموعات الكبيرة وكبار الضباط.
- القدرة على إعداد وتقديم أوراق النقاط/المواقف.
- الكفاءة في استخدام برامج مايكروسوفت ويندوز و أوفيس (وورد، إكسل، باوربوينت).
