The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is the world’s leading think tank examining geopolitical and geo-economic risk from an international perspective, with specialist expertise in risks with a national security dimension. The IISS has offices in London, Berlin, Singapore, Manama, and Washington DC. Arundel House Enterprises Ltd. (AHEL) is the commercial subsidiary of the IISS, under which this role will be contracted.
We are seeking an Advisor to support the IISS Six Analytic Project by conducting preliminary research and analysis on global developments, with an initial focus on the geopolitics of cyber and defence economics. This position is suited for individuals with some experience in international affairs and managing related projects.
Responsibilities:
- Apply analytical frameworks to real-world scenarios including cyber-relevant geopolitical events, defence economic trends, and broader security issues to answer strategic questions for our audience and corporate clients.
- Manage data meticulously as it pertains to our core research focus, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with technology teams to innovate and enhance proprietary tools, enabling more efficient data processing and richer analytical insights for client deliverables and strategic decision-making.
- Provide initial drafts of briefs and reports under the guidance of senior team members.
- Ensure that all materials are accurate, up-to-date, and formatted according to IISS standards.
- Support cross-functional engagement with other IISS departments to integrate diverse expertise, enhancing the overall quality and impact of the team’s analyses.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, aligning personal inputs with team goals and client expectations.
Requirements:
- Completion of a master’s degree in a relevant field, or relevant professional experience.
- Experience in research and analysis, with the ability to disseminate conclusions in written and verbal forms.
- Experience in using or contributing to database products.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- May have experience researching cyber, emerging technologies, or defence economics and related security issues.

المسؤوليات:

- حضور والمساهمة في اجتماعات الفريق وجلسات العصف الذهني لضمان توافق مدخلاتك مع أهداف الفريق وتوقعات العملاء.
المتطلبات:
- إتمام درجة الماجستير في مجال ذي صلة أو خبرة مهنية ذات صلة.
- خبرة في البحث والتحليل وتقديم الاستنتاجات كتابياً وشفوياً.
- خبرة في استخدام أو المساهمة في منتجات قواعد البيانات.
- إتقان اللغة الإنجليزية تحدثًا وكتابة.
- قد تكون لديك خبرة في البحث حول الأمن السيبراني أو التقنيات الناشئة أو اقتصاديات الدفاع والقضايا الأمنية ذات الصلة.
