Position: Maintenance Incharge
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for handling the site safety, plant maintenance, and operation, including all supportive activities like site work supervision, contractor follow-up, spare part purchasing, and technical reporting. The engineer will report directly to the plant manager and will collaborate and communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to operate the MECD plant with zero incidents, ensuring the highest reliability and productivity.
Dimensions
The MECD plant is an M10$ asset with an annual maintenance budget of approximately 100,000 U$.
Principal Accountabilities
This position is accountable for the following results:
- Communicate and report with integrity, ethically, and transparently to the in-line manager and collaborate with the O&M team.
- Understand all relevant EH&SQ regulations applicable to the facility and support the plant manager in ensuring compliance.
- Actively participate in site safety programs and comply with all company and statutory safety, operational, and security rules.
- Provide safety induction training to visitors/contractors when needed.
- Report and, when possible, eliminate hazards using the Air Products Basic Safety Practice (BSP) system.
- Regularly participate in site and operations safety meetings to identify, discuss, understand, and resolve safety-related issues.
- Operate the carbon dioxide plant according to procedures and parameters, filling log sheets and daily reports.
- Verify availability and reliability calculations and prepare industrial report figures.
- Monitor and avoid waste of raw materials and products when necessary.
- Oversee plant water treatment plans and Carboscan parameters and performance.
- Handle CO2 plant operations with support from a junior operator, as per the plant manager's organizing plan.
- Ensure proper storage of spare parts per manufacturer instructions and relevant procedures.
- Manage Mechanical/E&I daily activities, including troubleshooting, unplanned maintenance tasks, and planned maintenance tasks.
- As part of the on-call team, maintain site security and safety and liaise with BAPCO as required.
- Ensure discipline, punctuality, and absenteeism rules are maintained.
- Maintain good housekeeping and tidiness in the facility.
- Monitor and manage cost control measures as instructed by the plant manager.
- Log all operational data, messages, events, work done, and spares used in the plant logbook.
- Communicate plant conditions, work instructions, and work permits with personnel on-site.
- Collect production data, check for errors or signs of plant problems, and resolve discrepancies.
- Complete routine and specific work tasks as directed by the plant manager.
- Operate, stop, and isolate equipment and processes as needed.
- Be fully conversant with all on-site modifications as required.
- During plant shutdowns, maintain control over safety and operations.
- Assist and support the maintenance team.
- Align with the annual site operation and maintenance budget as agreed with the plant manager.
- Provide technical, operational, and troubleshooting support at the facility.
- Perform routine maintenance as per the SAP PM system and non-routine maintenance as needed.
- Supervise minor projects and control spares via SAP.
- Continuously assess PM activities and recommend improvements.
- Respond to critical alarms from the plant remotely to ensure uninterrupted product supply.
- Provide cover for the operation team as required.
- Update SOPs when needed.
- Handle electrical instrumentation, automation, and electrical power maintenance for the site.

- Observe safe working practices and foster harmonious relationships with BAPCO, customers, personnel, and suppliers.

- Familiarize with and execute tanker filling processes and documentation under special conditions.
