Join a rapidly expanding Series B company driving air freight and logistics digital transformation. Collaborate with a team supported by prominent Venture Capital firms like Index and Bessemer. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to the cloud infrastructure, ensuring quality and supporting a culture of open communication, feedback, and continuous improvement. We value Scrum, and if you're familiar with it, you'll align with our working style.Location:
Remote in Europe or South Africa (Check the hiring list for your country). Regular in-person meetings.What you will be doing:
- Take charge of the infrastructure running our software platform on a lean multicloud setup, optimizing for cost-effective development workflows and highly-available production environments.
- Work closely with software engineers to eliminate infrastructure obstacles and improve the developer experience with the “you build it, you run it” mindset.
- Define and execute the cloud infrastructure roadmap with our CTO.
- Operate our cloud infrastructure on GCP and Hetzner, including multiple Kubernetes clusters (GKE, Rancher).
- Maintain and manage infrastructure components within Kubernetes (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Redis, nginx-ingress).
- Monitor infrastructure performance using Grafana dashboards and alerts.
- Identify and implement security improvements, enhancing authorization, network segmentation, and encryption.
- Drive improvements across the infrastructure stack, such as infrastructure as code, better alerting, and reducing cloud costs.
We are looking for individuals with:
- At least 2 years of experience as a cloud infrastructure engineer with major cloud providers.
- Strong growth mindset, excited about tackling challenges and keeping the user in mind.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to embrace uncertainty, adaptability, and a high level of initiative.
- Willingness to learn and openness to giving/receiving feedback.
- Flexibility for deployments outside core operation hours.
