Position Details
- Job Title: Senior Geologist
- Location: Bahrain
- Key Responsibilities: Build petroleum systems models, evaluate geological data, conduct risk assessments, and support exploration efforts in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Job Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Petroleum System Modeling: Integrate well data, seismic interpretations, and geological data to develop conceptual petroleum systems models.
- Geological Basin Models: Evaluate and update geological basin models, integrating various geological, geophysical, and geochemical data.
- Well Data Interpretation: Interpret well data, including wireline logs, mud and gas logs, and rock analysis studies.
- Structural and Stratigraphic Modeling: Develop structural and stratigraphic models for reservoirs and play concepts of interest.
- Sedimentological and Mineralogical Analysis: Conduct analyses on available data to develop sedimentological and depositional models for various formations and reservoirs.
- Core and Fluid Lab Analysis: Propose, plan, and oversee core, cuttings, and fluid lab analysis studies to enhance understanding of reservoirs.
- Risk Evaluation: Conduct advanced geological risk evaluations for leads, prospects, and plays.
- Resources Volumetric Estimations: Perform advanced volumetric estimations using deterministic and statistical techniques to support exploration evaluations.
- Drilling Location Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend drilling locations for exploration and appraisal wells.
- Support Drilling Operations: Support, monitor, and follow up with well-site geologists during drilling operations.
- External Coordination: Coordinate external geological studies and third-party engagements.
- Industry Representation: Represent the company’s interests in Joint Study Agreements with international oil companies and technical committees of Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSAs).
Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive experience in petroleum geology, including basin modeling and resource evaluation.
- Skills: Proficiency in geological software and advanced interpretation techniques.
- Education: Degree in Geology or a related field; higher qualifications are preferred.
- Knowledge: Expertise in sedimentology, structural geology, and risk evaluation.
