CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The Area Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for supporting the facilities in the region in the creation and implementation of Sherwin Williams' Continuous Improvement (CI) culture. The Area CI Manager works closely with various manufacturing or distribution sites to understand current state processes and improve on them to attain monetary, time, or moral benefits. This resource will be the main point of contact for coaching and training of CI strategies and needs for the facilities or operational areas.
Responsibilities
Major Tasks Performed:
- Increase the transparency of Operations by ensuring robust measurement of losses for all areas of Operations, e.g., generation of appropriate loss trees.
- Increase productivity within Operations by leading the usage of the appropriate lean tools, six sigma methodology, etc. (e.g., value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban) to eliminate losses such as delay, duplication, unnecessary movement, unclear communication, incorrect inventory, and product defects.
- Coach the operational teams in continuous improvement techniques and help them cascade this approach to their teams to develop a proactive continuous improvement culture.
- Develop training programs and undertake training in the use of continuous improvement tools.
- Assist facilities with the maintenance of their respective continuous improvement projects in the Onbase database.
- Review implementation requirements to understand site personnel or resource requirements and negotiate with the involved areas.
- Build and lead the implementation plans for each specific facility to maintain the 5-year plans for Standard Work and other CI initiatives.
- Create reports for sites/regions as needed through the analytics tools like OBIEE or Business Objects.
- Audit sites for certification or sustainability of CI certifications.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Regional Controls Engineer

Job Description
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of control system projects from their initial planning and conceptual stage through design, implementation, successful start-up, and acceptance by operating management. The design, implementation, and startup of these control systems involve the application of advanced computer/PLC/HMI programming, electrical controls knowledge, and process engineering skills. This position also acts as an in-house consultant to all assigned sites with respect to control system programming, troubleshooting, software, and hardware. Proficiency in PLC hardware/software design and system integration is required. There is also the requirement to ensure ongoing maintenance and obsolescence management at the site level to manage the region’s risk profile for control systems.
Responsibilities
Direct responsibility with limited guidance to perform the following tasks:
- Design and implement new control systems for capital projects.
- PLC programming and application development under the direction of a Senior Control Engineer.
- Enhance and support existing control systems. 24x7 support may be required for critical situations.
- Develop design specifications and user documentation for control system capital projects.
- Coordinate the inputs of the project team (1-6 people from various departments).
- Budget responsibility on assigned projects (minor to $1.0M).
- Specify equipment, obtain cost estimates, generate bill of materials, and expedite purchasing and fabrication of electrical controls equipment in line with SW preferred equipment.
- Lead contractors on project assignments through design and installation.
- Support control system commissioning through site acceptance.
- Develop control system documentation and reference material for site operations and technical support personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement through enhancements to existing control software and hardware systems.
- Train and mentor various resources in controls/automation (interns/co-ops, external contractors, site engineers, instrument technicians).
- Provide technical support for root cause analysis related to control system issues and failures.
Qualifications
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Required: BEng, BA, or BS in Engineering or related field.
- Preferred: BEng or BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Required:
- 7 years of experience in controls engineering or a related field. Ability to demonstrate roles with increasing responsibility.
- Preferred:
- Concurrently leads multiple significant project designs and executions; a significant project is defined as a value of $250k or greater.
- Knowledge of chemical batch manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of ISA S88 standard for batch control.
- Knowledge of applying cyber security solutions in an ICS environment.
- Lean six sigma experience or belt certification.

المسؤوليات
المهام الرئيسية التي يتم تنفيذها:
- زيادة شفافية العمليات من خلال ضمان قياس شامل للخسائر عبر جميع مجالات العمليات، مثل إنشاء الأشجار المناسبة للخسائر.
- تعزيز الإنتاجية من خلال قيادة استخدام أدوات اللين ومنهجية ستة سيجما، وما إلى ذلك (مثل رسم خرائط تدفق القيمة، 5S، كانبان) للقضاء على الخسائر مثل التأخير، والتكرار، والحركة غير الضرورية، والتواصل الغامض، والمخزون غير الصحيح، وعيوب المنتجات.
- تدريب الفرق التشغيلية على تقنيات التحسين المستمر ومساعدتهم في نقل هذه الأساليب إلى فرقهم، مما يساهم في تطوير ثقافة التحسين المستمر الاستباقية.
- تطوير برامج تدريبية وتنفيذ التدريب على أدوات التحسين المستمر.
- دعم المنشآت في الحفاظ على مشاريع التحسين المستمر الخاصة بهم في قاعدة بيانات Onbase.
- مساعدة المواقع في تحديد مشاريع التحسين المستمر وتحليل وتحسين العمليات الحالية.
- مراجعة متطلبات التنفيذ لفهم احتياجات الموظفين أو الموارد في الموقع والتفاوض مع المناطق المعنية.
- بناء وقيادة خطط التنفيذ لكل منشأة محددة للحفاظ على الخطط الخمسية للعمل القياسي وغيرها من المبادرات المتعلقة بالتحسين المستمر.
- تدقيق المواقع للحصول على الشهادات أو استدامة شهادات التحسين المستمر.

- ضمان التواصل الفعال وفهم أهداف واستراتيجيات التحسين المستمر.
المؤهلات
متطلبات الوظيفة
التعليم الرسمي:
- درجة بكاليروس في مجال الهندسة أو مؤهل مهني معادل.
- يفضل درجة في الهندسة الصناعية.
المعرفة والخبرة:
- منظم للغاية ولديه مهارات تواصل ممتازة.
- يركز على تحقيق الأهداف ويعمل بشكل جيد ضمن فريق.
- يفضل: مهارات إدارة المشاريع وخلفية في التحسين المستمر (ستة سيجما أو اللين).
المتطلبات الفنية/المهارات:
- خبرة في مشاريع التحسين المستمر، والعمل مع أدوات وتقنيات التحسين المستمر وتدريب الآخرين عليها.
- خبرة في استخدام إطار العمل TPM للتحسين داخل بيئة المصنع.
- خبرة في بيئة تصنيع السلع الاستهلاكية.
- وعي مالي وتجاري قوي وفهم جيد لجميع المجالات الوظيفية داخل الشركة.
- مهارات القيادة من خلال التأثير والتدريب.
- القدرة على التواصل الفعال على جميع المستويات.
- شغف نشط بالإبداع في التحسينات المناسبة.
