 Civil Design Draftsman

 Job Description:

The Civil Design Draftsman will provide design and drafting services for engineering projects within the department, focusing on plant civil engineering design, while adhering to standard industry practices and company and international technical standards. The position involves reviewing engineering drawings, assisting in the preparation of technical specifications, liaising with contractors and vendors, and ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Drafting:

  • Provide design and drafting services for civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Check and review drawings and designs produced by engineering consultants and contractors to ensure they meet technical standards of accuracy, consistency, and dimensional control.
  • Assist in preparing technical specifications and requirements for Civil, Structural, and Building projects to ensure efficient execution with best engineering practices.

• Site Visits and Coordination:

  • Visit project sites to collect necessary information for design requirements, constraints, and physical dimensions by liaising with the Operating and Maintenance Department personnel.
  • Work closely with Contractors, Vendors, and Consultants to coordinate design requirements and ensure conformity to company standards.

• Documentation and Archiving:

  • Ensure proper archiving of engineering drawings and technical documentation using the company’s document management system (EIMS) for secure storage and traceability.
  • Provide 'As-built' designs for EIMS to maintain the integrity of engineering documentation and ensure consistency across construction projects executed by the Plant Engineering Department.

• Design and Detailing Standardization:

  • Assist in updating and controlling design and detailing standards for Civil, Structural, and Building aspects, contributing to the uniformity and quality of projects.

• Database and Engineering Knowledge:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Civil, Structural, and Building engineering database, incorporating historical information and adhering to international codes and standards.

Reporting Structure:

• The position reports directly to the Senior Designer - Civil Design and is guided by the Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural on project matters.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

• Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in design drafting, preferably within an Engineering Consultant, Manufacturing, or Maintenance Company in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Practical experience in workshop and construction practices.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Smart Plant, and other relevant software tools, with a strong working knowledge of computer-aided drafting techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite (Windows Operating System). Exposure to specialized Civil, Structural, and Building Engineering design software is a plus.

• Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with construction, modification, and repair methods, materials, and job sequences in engineering project works.
  • Knowledge of industry-wide codes and standards related to civil, structural, and building engineering.

• Communication Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information.

• Additional Skills:

  • Ability to develop and apply a thorough understanding of company standards and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

سيقدم مصمم التصميم المدني خدمات التصميم والرسم للمشاريع الهندسية داخل القسم، مع التركيز على تصميم الهندسة المدنية للمصنع، مع الالتزام بممارسات الصناعة القياسية والمعايير الفنية للشركة والمعايير الدولية. يتضمن المنصب مراجعة الرسومات الهندسية، والمساعدة في إعداد المواصفات الفنية، والاتصال بالمقاولين والبائعين، والتأكد من أن جميع التصاميم تلبي أعلى معايير الدقة والجودة.

المؤهلات:

تعليم:

• • - درجة البكالوريوس على الأقل في الهندسة المدنية والهيكلية أو مؤهل معادل لها.

• خبرة:

  • - خبرة لا تقل عن خمس (5) سنوات في صياغة التصميم، ويفضل أن تكون في شركة استشارات هندسية أو تصنيع أو صيانة في صناعة النفط والغاز أو البتروكيماويات .
  • خبرة عملية في ورش العمل وممارسات البناء.

• المهارات الفنية:

  • الكفاءة في استخدام برامج AutoCAD وSmart Plant وأدوات البرمجيات الأخرى ذات الصلة، مع معرفة عملية قوية بتقنيات الرسم بمساعدة الكمبيوتر.
  • معرفة جيدة بحزمة برامج MS Office (نظام التشغيل Windows). يعد التعرض لبرامج التصميم المتخصصة في الهندسة المدنية والإنشائية والبناء ميزة إضافية.

المعرفة الصناعية:

• • - المعرفة بطرق البناء والتعديل والإصلاح والمواد وتسلسل العمل في أعمال المشاريع الهندسية.
