Product Manager, Retro Funding

About The Optimism Collective And Optimism Unlimited

To date, the Optimism Collective is defined by its focus on scaling Ethereum and funding public goods. We’ve processed hundreds of millions of transactions and are responsible for the largest ongoing public goods funding program in existence. Optimism Unlimited is a subsidiary of the Optimism Foundation that focuses on supporting the growth, adoption, and governance of the Optimism Collective.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the Development of Retro Funding Infrastructure:
  Oversee the creation and scaling of components such as:

  • Retro Funding sign-up processes: Collect relevant information from projects for Retro Funding.
  • Application review system: Filter out applications that are not compliant with application rules.
  • Voting application: Provide functionality for badgeholders to decide how to reward impact.
  • Information discovery systems: View and interact with Retro Funding results and upcoming funding rounds.

• Define Product Requirements:
  Gather input from stakeholders, including Optimism governance participants and Optimism contributors, to align the product with the project’s strategic goals.

• Collaborate with Design Team:
  Work closely with the design team to develop the user experience for all Retro Funding tools and interfaces.

• Engage with External Partners:
  Work with external engineering teams and partners through Foundation Missions to ensure successful implementation and integration of Retro Funding components.

• Oversee Full Product Lifecycle:
  Manage the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including iterative improvements, ensuring alignment with user needs and Collective objectives.

Skills You Bring

• Interest in Summoning Ethers Phoenix:
  A deep interest in the subject matter and the challenges involved.

• Product Management Experience:
  Proven experience in product management with a strong track record of shipping successful products.

• Experience with Web3 Products:
  Specific experience in shipping Web3 products, with a deep understanding of blockchain technologies, decentralized applications, and development challenges.

• Experience in Decentralized Governance Systems:
  Experience working in or with decentralized governance systems and understanding community-led decision-making processes.

• Collaborative Skills:
  Ability to work effectively with internal and external teams to drive project milestones.

• Hands-On Approach:
  Willingness to get hands-on and perform manual tasks when needed.

• Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills:
  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
