Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct task analyses to ensure safe execution.
- Supervise labor and ensure adherence to safe working procedures.
- Allocate work to employees based on directions.
- Manage requests for equipment, materials, and consumables.
- Monitor usage of materials and equipment to minimize waste.
- Prepare short-term schedules (daily and weekly).
- Ensure efficient employment of mechanical labor.
- Provide leadership and discipline within the team.
- Coordinate work according to Job Cards or schedules.
- Ensure work meets quality and specification requirements.
- Complete daily time cards accurately and on time.
- Promote team building and assist in training apprentices.
- Liaise with other trade supervisors and ensure a clean and safe workplace.
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure tools are secured and used properly.
- Assist with job estimation, technical queries, and performance appraisals.
- Plan and coordinate machine shop deliveries, overtime, and production schedules.
- Investigate non-conformance and maintain manufacturing accuracy.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of experience in the earthmoving and civil construction industry.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong supervision, communication, planning, and organization skills.
- In-depth knowledge of OH&SE, environmental management, and quality systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Experience working in multicultural environments with minimal supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in IT and computer-aided design (CAD).
Skills:
- Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities.
- Confidence in dealing with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and with limited supervision.
