Vacant Positions:
Associate Professor in Surgery
Teaching:
- Deliver teaching to Year 1-5 medical students, including case-based learning (CBL) tutorials, lectures, physical examination sessions, simulated case histories, and bedside tutorials, as required.
- Formulate, structure, and participate in remedial teaching and the Revision Course for students who have not passed their end-of-year exams during July and August, as needed.
- Develops simulated case histories for both teaching and examination purposes.
- Monitor and report students' progress, achievements, and attendance, particularly highlighting any issues regarding student absence or concerns about academic performance to the Head of Department.
- Contribute to the organisation and management of the Surgery teaching program to ensure that it meets a quality of standard.
- Participate in clinical and educational research projects within the Department of Surgery.
Assessment:
- Participate in conducting and marking examinations, including supplemental exams, for students in Years 1-5, as requested by the Head of Department or Nominee.
- Assist in the Summative Examinations (TOSBAs, OSCEs, and Long Cases) for Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5 students.
- Contribute to creating multiple-choice questions for assessments in Years 1-5.
- Participate in oral examinations for students in Years 1-5.
- Reserves dates of examinations in own diary/calendar once dates of examinations are published to ensure participation in examinations.
Student Mentoring:
- Provide pastoral care, mentorship, and support in developing research projects to students.
- Participate in the Personal Tutor Program to support student well-being and academic development.
