Job Description
Job Summary
The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Contractor’s compliance with the Contract Documents with regards to the Electrical Works (Power, Substations, Lighting, F.A, ELV, Security System, Access Control, Instrumentation, and Telecommunication) and associated elements of the Contract. Coordinate on a daily basis with the other Package team to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor. Process the incoming correspondence, technical submittals, inspections, and perform the necessary actions.
Job Duties
- Prepare Daily Reports.
- General oversight of Inspector’s daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on the supervision of the Contractor’s operations.
- Review and Comment/Approve of the Contractor’s Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
- Review and undertake site inspections.
- Review and assist the RE to provide approvals/comments to the Contractor’s technical submittals (Method Statement, Material, shop drawings ... etc.) as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
- Coordination with Contractor’s supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
- Review the as-built drawings, in coordination with inspectors and surveyors.
- Witness the laboratory tests and verify test results.
- Report non-conformances by the Contractor, if observed, while the Contractor executes his scope of services.
- Assist in punch list preparation.
- Coordinate field inspections.
- Set, manage and control delivery of all contract elements and objectives including scope, quality, budgets, schedules, stakeholder interfaces, Communication/reporting, environmental, and Health and Safety.
- Maintain the SRE informed of all developments which may affect the project so that these can be dealt with immediately.
- Must be technically sound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelize and solve problems expeditiously.
- Take the required measures to identify slippage in the Contractor's activities early so that immediate recovery actions can be taken by the contractor.
- Use extensive relevant construction experience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems before they arise.
- Portray strong leadership skills which promote mutual respect both from the AECOM CM staff as well as the Contractor.
- Ensure high quality of works during the construction period, strict compliance with the Employer’s Requirements, Project Specifications, and Safety Requirements.
- Assessment of the Contractor’s compliance with the quality management System as specified in the latest applicable standards.
- Review of Contractor’s Design for compliance with Employer’s Requirements, Authority Requirements, End-User Requirements, and Local and International Standards.
- Review and provide necessary comments/approval to the Contractor’s technical submittals including but not limited to calculations, drawings, material … etc.
- Submit to the SRE daily, weekly reports with details of the progress of fabrication, construction, testing of components, parts and assemblies, and status of materials procurement. Any non-conformity and malpractice found shall also be reported.
- Evaluate Contractor's personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress of all project participants.
- Participate in project construction meetings.
- Assist in resolution of construction problems.
- Analyze value engineering proposals.
- Prepare non-conformance report to the contractor, if observed, while the Contractor executes his scope of services.
Qualification
A Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Specific Skills Required
- Having relevant experience in supervising education or medical-related buildings. This experience is the determining factor for this role.
- Have working knowledge in supervising works as applicable.
- Management experience with the ability to communicate and interact with all other building disciplines.
- Reporting and communication skills.

Job Duties
Responsible to lead the design team to enhance the "Design Excellence” through qualified project delivery. Manage small and medium sized projects or sections of larger projects to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme. Provide technological input and supervise technical input by others within the Architectural discipline. Responsible for the efficient and economic use of a small team and CAD technicians within projects. Manage project support teams including input from architectural technologists. Approves drawing packages for submission. Supervise the presentation of plans to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning and permit approvals. Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. Inspects and supervises the inspection of construction projects while in progress and upon completion for adherence to plans and specifications; advises contractors on the interpretation of plans and specifications; approves minor design changes in the course of construction; reviews contractors' requests for payment. Carry assignments to completion with considerable independence in accordance with project objectives, professional standards, and policies and procedures. Supervise subordinate personnel in preparing plans, specifications and preliminary construction layouts and cost estimates.
Qualification
Bachelor degree with major course work in Architecture required. MBA/MSc in Construction or Project Management or similar is preferred.
Specific Skills Required
Considerable project architect knowledge including design, project management and site supervision. Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment employed in building and facilities construction and maintenance in the field of structural architecture as related to public buildings and facilities. Expertise in large scale projects. Familiar with researching, preparing and presenting technical presentations and reports. Outstanding leadership skills. Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent computer/software skills. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
