This role requires the support of audit teams to review investment valuations, purchase price allocations on acquisitions, and goodwill impairment tests. Our Advisory teams also support businesses as they restructure and expand, whether organically or by acquisition.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Ability to obtain and present appropriate audit evidence, address the relevant audit objectives,
- Responding to client queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracy, and referring upwards if necessary.
- Performing complex fieldwork on assigned clients, assisting with the setting of budgets and pricing, scheduling audits, selecting staff, and assigning workloads, developing the audit strategy, all within the KPMG Audit Methodology, and using technology tools.
- Identifying issues for reporting in the management letter and other communications with management, and drafting the final documents for review by the director, senior manager, and partner.
- Leading and managing the audit team in the field.
- Supplying or attending briefings that are clearly understood on all assignments, and through the setting of clear standards for the team to work in, the DM ensures that the teams fully understand their roles before the assignments commence.
- Setting budgets and pricing, scheduling audits, selecting staff, and assigning workloads and financial reporting for assigned portfolios of clients amounting to a total of 6000 - 8000 hours (from QR 1.1 mn to QR 1.4 mn, or from USD 300 ths. to USD 400 ths.) and setting the audit strategy.
- Ensuring completion of audits/projects within the pre-set timescales and budgets, explaining variances from the budget, and collecting cash on time.
- Drafting final audit documents for review by the director or partner.
The Individual
- Graduate degree in Accounting or related field;
- Fully qualified in any of the following international professional qualifications – CA, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, CIA.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
Experience Expected
- At least 5 years in public auditing and accounting, of which at least 3 years must be post-qualifying experience, preferably with a Big 4 Audit firm;
- Extensive knowledge of best practice reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards;
- Auditing experience in Financial Services.
- Some experience outside the normal audit field, such as agreed-upon, accounting support, and other transaction support engagements.
- Starting to actively develop an understanding of a range of financial and other areas (other than attestation and accounting advisory) to be able to assist clients on due diligence and other transaction support engagements (If this point is not available, then there should be available proof of being trained thereon).

Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to complex project management and program management initiatives.
- The person should primarily be required to review the valuations of investments, which may be private equity or real estate, and assist audit teams to conclude on these valuations. The person should know various methodologies permitted for valuations as per IFRS and its impact on financial reporting.
- Working in our multi-disciplined teams, you will apply your talents to various complex, demanding, and high-profile transactions from acquisitions and mergers to flotations and buy-outs.
- Identification of key issues and carrying out the relevant financial analysis.
- To undertake smaller assignments or assist in larger assignments reporting to a Director or Partner, with their limited supervision.
- Preparation of good reports for documentation in the audit file, including review of sections compiled by other team members on the job.
- Management of and contribution to the development of junior staff, including timely and objective feedback on every job.
- Establishing credibility with clients/targets as a representative of KPMG.
- Maintaining business contacts at middle/senior levels (i.e., it is our expectation that managers will make a positive commitment to maintaining contact with people they meet on transactions, who may become important providers of work in the future).
- To actively participate in compiling proposals/business development activities.
- To contribute to the effective working of the team and the development of team morale.
- Ensure that risk documentation is completed for all jobs on a timely basis as per the applicable T&R technical/risk management policies.
- To contribute to practice development initiatives, if possible, sales, people, solution development, etc.
This is the job for you if you have:
- Qualified CA, CFA, ACCA (ideally first attempt).
- Have 5-7 years of experience in Transaction Services or a similar environment (Audit and accounting firms).
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills, issue identification/prioritization/resolution and report writing skills.
- Ability to execute project plans, manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and manage individual/team budgets.
