Dubbing Director
About the job
Papercup is looking for experienced freelance dubbing directors for ongoing freelance work in Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French (European) and Italian.
Papercup is an AI dubbing company that uses a human-in-the-loop model to improve the overall quality of our localisation and synthetic voices which we use to dub videos for a range of content types. Papercup is looking for experienced dubbing directors to bring creative guidance and quality control services to our voice-acting teams in several languages.
Voice actors play a pivotal role in Papercup’s dubbing workflow, using their vocal skills and expertise to help bring life to our catalogue of synthetic voices. For highly expressive video content, where the level of emotion, pitch, and tone cannot be achieved through TTS alone, Papercup’s voice actors help identify areas where the prosody could be improved to match the dialogue in the source language and record an improved version. A voice conversion model is used to map the voice actor’s performance onto a specific segment of dialogue and improve the quality and expressivity of the synthetic voice. Papercup’s voice actors can work with and improve the synthetic voices, regardless of their age, gender, or voice profile.

This is an ongoing role, with the expected available work up to 20 hours per week.
