About the job
Job Purpose/Summary:
The Specialist – Marine and Logistics supports the Head – Marine Operations & Logistics in overseeing and managing the day-to-day marine and logistics operations for Bapco Upstream, to ensure that they are efficient, timely, and meet the required standards. The jobholder is also responsible to ensure that the LNG carriers and marine services provided are abiding to safety compliance and navigation laws within Bahrain Waters.
Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Coordinates for vessel operations, including berthing, mooring, and cargo transfer activities with marine service providers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Liaises with vessel operators, towing services, port authorities, and pilots to plan and execute vessel movements, taking into consideration weather conditions, tidal restrictions, and safety protocols.
Ensures compliance with international maritime regulations, local port regulations, and industry best practices related to LNG terminal operations.
Implements and enforce safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and environmental protection measures for operations at the terminal.
Serves as a point of contact for vessel operators, pilots, port authorities, and regulatory agencies.
Responds to incidents or emergencies, such as spills, accidents, or vessel malfunctions, by coordinating and implementing appropriate response actions.
Conducts incident investigations, prepare incident reports, and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
