Controls Engineer
About the job
Role: Controls Engineer
Duration: 6 + months
Time: 4 hours overlap EST
Location: 100% remote
Fulltime contract role (40 hours per week)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of industrial experience in controls engineering.
Extensive experience with Siemens Step 7 Classic and TIA Portal.
Proficiency in PLC programming languages, including Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), Statement List (STL), and Structure Text (SCL).
Experience leading control system projects in an industrial setting.
Desired Skills:
Strong understanding of the SCL framework and JavaScript.
Familiarity with Java, Python, or other programming languages.
Strong knowledge of automation processes, especially in material handling (e.g., conveyor systems, storage and retrieval systems, monorail systems).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Superior communication and leadership abilities.
