About the job
Short Description
Plan, direct and manage the instrumentation drawings of new projects and existing facilities within the Company. Manage the Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) database and ensure all contractor and vendor drawings meet project and design specification and guidelines.
Responsibilities
1. Co-ordinate and supervise Design & Drafting covering overall plant design ensuring consistency of design and presentation and adherence to company drafting standards.
2. Liaise with the project engineer and instrumentation engineers to define project scope and set realistic schedules and target dates.
3. Manage a job schedule by efficiently allocating time to completion of various instrumentation drawings activities, reviews, approvals, and SPI database management.
4. Check and sign drawings for dimensional accuracy, adherence to project requirements and conformity to Company standards.
5. Act in a co-ordination/liaison role with outside agencies with regards to Company policy, standards, and records management.
6. Provide assistance and advice to instrumentation engineers, designers, contractor, and vendor personnel during project development with the aim of reducing costly delays and re-work.
7. Acts as mentor to trainees and on occasions compiles and delivers training programs in various areas of design drafting.
8. Adopts an administrative role in managing the SPI database and CAD software and other instrumentation drawings records.
