Overview
- In this role, you will define and continuously refining warehouse design roadmaps and templates, providing recommendations for existing and new warehouses, and striving to harmonize design variants globally. Alongside this, you will provide logistics automation expertise, including insights on trends and innovations within the warehouse and automation sectors.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead the engineering stream across new warehouse projects, from concept to completion, ensuring optimal goods flow, MHE, and automation systems.
- Take charge of developing and executing the design and automation roadmap for existing warehouses, including maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with logistics hardware suppliers, both existing and new.
- Be responsible for defining and documenting the architectural requirements and dependencies between building and operations, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Provide expert advice and support on logistics automation topics, both strategic and operational, to regional and global stakeholders.
- Keep track of the latest trends and innovations in the warehouse and automation sector and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Monitor and report on the global logistics end-to-end operational performance, KPIs, issues, and risks, and propose solutions and mitigation.
- Assess the sustainability impact of logistics automation solutions, from a social, economic, and environmental perspective, and align with the company’s vision and values.
- Competencies required
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, and interaction skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in logistics, including operational processes and standards, and how automation supports warehouse operations.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to take initiative and drive change.
- Project management experience in warehouse implementation projects, with the ability to coordinate installation and construction teams.
- A good understanding of end-to-end warehouse processes and how automation supports warehouse operations.
- A good understanding of requirements and documentation needs, and the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
- Experience in vendor management, governance models, and business planning.
- An interest in technology and the latest trends in warehouse automation.
