About the role:
- We’re looking to hire the first Partner Solutions Architect in EMEA to join the Field Engineering team. As a Partner Solutions Architect, you will work with technology and services partners to accelerate the adoption of dbt Cloud in the region and drive shared customer success. This role will play a big part in building the partner ecosystem in EMEA. This person will be based specifically in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, or Germany.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Build close relationships with our technology and services partners (including companies like Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Infinite Lambda, and Slalom) and enable them to adopt and implement dbt Cloud for their clients
- Run training for tech and SI partners in collaboration with Partner Managers
- Develop technical SMEs within tech and SI partners
- Coordinate technical messaging, demos, and workshops for partner marketing events
- Support partner-led POVs as part of dbt Cloud Enterprise sales cycles
- Support co-selling and partner relationships for long-term success
- Serve as platform and partner technologies SME for other dbt Labs SA teams
- Become an expert in designing enterprise-grade data pipelines with dbt Cloud
- Work with Partner Managers to communicate the technical value of dbt Cloud
- Liaise with Product to influence and maintain the dbt Cloud Enterprise roadmap
- Travel ~25% of the time (about 1 trip per month across the region)
We are looking for someone who has:
- 4+ years of sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI
- A solid technical background, with experience in SQL, ETL, and data modeling
- A firm understanding of and ability to discuss modern data warehousing architectures
- Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions
- Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced work environment
- A passion for being an inclusive teammate and involved member of the community
Nice to haves:
- Prior experience working at an analytics, ETL, BI, and/or open-sourced software
- Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt
- Experience with Data Modeling methods such as dimensional, data vault, Kimball, 3NF
- Experience with traditional Enterprise ETL tooling (Informatica, Boomi, Talend)
- Experience working in Partnerships or Alliances roles, or with SI and technology partners
