About the Position
- The ALS Arabia Life Sciences Team in Manama, Bahrain is seeking ambitious and experienced applicants for the position of Field Sampler. Ideally, the applicant would have tertiary qualifications in science (preferably Chemistry or Environmental Science) with environmental experience, including at least three years of experience.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- A sampling of client sites in accordance with client requirements, including on-site field analyses where applicable.
- Ensuring the appropriate sampling equipment and approved methodology is used to provide a quality service to the clients.
- Optimizing turnaround times for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of sampling protocol is achieved and maintained.
- Understanding methodology changes that affect the operations of sampling.
- Ensuring the sampling equipment and vehicle provided are kept correctly maintained as well as clean and tidy.
- Maintaining client relations, scheduling, and maintaining sampling times of clients.
- Maintaining an appearance both personally and reflected in equipment presentation, in accordance with the quality requirements of ALS Arabia.
- Prioritizing of samples upon arrival to the laboratory.
- Sorting of samples and delivery to labs.
- Sample bottle preparation.
- Maintain equipment used for conducting analyses, including cleaning and calibration.
- Undertake training as required.
- Conduct training of team members to ensure compliance with ALS Arabia Life Sciences Quality System.
- To ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with ALS Arabia quality procedures.
About you
- To be familiar with the safety requirements as set out in the safety manual.
- To have a knowledge of the company safety policy.
- To notify and/or rectify any unsafe practice acknowledged by any ALS Arabia staff.
- To comply with relevant traffic rules and regulations.
- To be inducted into all workplaces to collect samples.
- Not to perform any work that they feel is unsafe. Inform persons in control of workplace of hazard and request corrective action to control hazards before commencing work.
- To report any OH&S non-conformances back to ALS Arabia management.
- To comply with the OH&S requirements at each workplace where samples are collected.
