KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main Role
- Responsible for the overall safety and security of the school. Ensure the implementation of overall building security strategies on a daily basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to ensure compliance with statutory and school legislation, guidelines, procedures and standards with respect to security management.
- Ensure the safety and security of the whole school building premises both indoors and outdoor.
- Use and maintain the school’s security systems.
- Communicate and liaise with a wide range of personnel, students and external contractors in relation to the safety and security of the school.
- Report unusual activity or suspicions of safety issues to the school management in a timely fashion.
- Actively respond to incidents or issues that concern the school’s security and complete proper documentation related to incident/accident reports and misconduct reports as and when necessary.
- Monitor school grounds and school entrances to ensure only authorized personnel and authorized visitors access the school ; if assigned to the main entrance, ensure all guests follow visitor protocol and triage visitor requests
- Exercise dignity and respect when interacting with staff, parents, students and visitors at all times.
- Review the CCTV surveillance system during investigations and when directed.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the school management.
- Patrol the school campus and areas around the school including unsupervised areas.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Person Specification:
- At least a secondary school diploma holder
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar field
- Punctual, reliable and must have a stong communication skill
- Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
- Must satisfactorily complete the background and safeguarding checks requirement
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with an ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail, prioritisation skills and time management
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Great understanding of legal guidelines for school campus security and public safety
- Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
- Experience in CCTC surveillance system
- Trained in first aid/BLS and self-defense
