About the job

Main Objectives:

Directs the activities of assigned clerical engaged in processing materials procurement and carries out local and foreign purchasing activities. Checks purchase request for materials and services for proper completion, invites bids and quotations, prepares purchase evaluations/quotations analysis and submits recommendations for selection of appropriate bidder. Prepares and dispatches Purchase Orders and ensures orders are progressed until materials are received. Maintains current list of approved suppliers.

Main Duties

• o Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Purchasing Unit. Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by Management for the position.
• o Receives Purchase Requests for materials, equipment and services, checks for correct description and charge account, proper authorization and other relevant data.
