HEAD OF IT – BAHRAIN

Job Title: Head of IT / Director of Technology

Reporting To: Principal, Head of School, or Executive Director of Operations

Summary:

The Head of IT is the strategic and operational leader responsible for all technology within the Academy. This role ensures the technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and integrates seamlessly to enhance both academic instruction and administrative efficiency. The successful candidate will drive the strategic vision for technology use in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology Vision & Academic Integration

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap supporting curriculum goals and fostering 21st-century skills

• Collaborate with faculty to implement innovative EdTech tools (LMS, interactive displays, specialized software)

• Design and deliver professional training for teachers and staff on technology use

2. Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Oversee planning, installation, maintenance, and security of network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi), servers, and cloud environments

• Manage school systems including SIS, LMS, and internal administrative software

• Lead strategy and deployment for school-owned devices, asset tracking, imaging, and repair

• Supervise IT support to ensure timely resolution of technical issues

3. Security, Data, & Compliance

• Ensure all technology practices comply with educational data privacy regulations (GDPR, FERPA, or local laws)

• Develop and manage cybersecurity programs including firewalls, filtering, and incident response protocols

• Promote safe, responsible, and ethical use of technology by all students and staff

4. Leadership & Administration

• Prepare and manage annual IT operating and capital budgets

• Oversee vendor and contract management, software licensing, and negotiations

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate IT department personnel

• Maintain and regularly test disaster recovery plans

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s or certifications preferred)

• Minimum 5–8 years of progressive IT experience, including 3 years in leadership (preferably educational environment)

• Deep knowledge of school-specific technology, including SIS, classroom technologies, and instructional software

• Exceptional communication skills for educators, administrators, and parents

• Strong project management and strategic planning abilities

• Passion for educational technology and student outcomes

• Must be able to join immediately

الوصف الوظيفي:

رئيس قسم تقنية المعلومات / مدير التكنولوجيا مسؤول عن جميع الجوانب التقنية في الأكاديمية، بما في ذلك البنية التحتية، الأنظمة، ودعم التعليم والإدارة. المرشح الناجح سيقود الرؤية الاستراتيجية لاستخدام التكنولوجيا في التدريس والتعلم.

المسؤوليات الرئيسية:

1. الرؤية التكنولوجية ودمج التعليم:

• تطوير وتنفيذ استراتيجية تقنية تعليمية شاملة تدعم أهداف المنهج الدراسي

• التعاون مع فرق التدريس لتطبيق أدوات تعليمية مبتكرة (LMS، شاشات تفاعلية، برامج متخصصة)

• تصميم وتنفيذ تدريبات مهنية للمعلمين والموظفين

2. البنية التحتية وإدارة الأنظمة:

• الإشراف على الشبكات والخوادم وبيئات السحابة

• إدارة الأنظمة الإدارية الحيوية (SIS، LMS، البرمجيات الداخلية)

• قيادة استراتيجية إدارة الأجهزة المدرسية (أجهزة الطلاب، مختبرات الحاسوب، أجهزة الموظفين)

• الإشراف على فريق الدعم الفني لضمان حل جميع المشكلات التقنية

3. الأمن والبيانات والامتثال:

• ضمان الامتثال لقوانين خصوصية البيانات (GDPR/FERPA أو القوانين المحلية)

• تطوير برنامج أمن سيبراني قوي بما في ذلك الجدران النارية والتدريب الدوري للموظفين

• تعزيز الاستخدام الآمن والمسؤول للتكنولوجيا بين الطلاب والموظفين

4. القيادة والإدارة:

• إعداد وإدارة الميزانيات التشغيلية ورأس المال لتقنية المعلومات

• إدارة علاقات الموردين وعقود البرمجيات

• قيادة وتقييم أداء جميع موظفي قسم تقنية المعلومات

• وضع خطة استمرارية الأعمال واختبارها بانتظام

المؤهلات المطلوبة:

• درجة البكالوريوس في علوم الحاسوب أو تقنية المعلومات أو مجال ذي صلة (يفضل الماجستير أو الشهادات المهنية ITIL، PMP)

• خبرة 5–8 سنوات في مجال التقنية، مع 3 سنوات على الأقل في دور قيادي، ويفضل في بيئة تعليمية

• معرفة عميقة بأنظمة المعلومات التعليمية وأجهزة الصفوف والبرامج التعليمية

المهارات الشخصية:

• مهارات تواصل استثنائية لشرح المفاهيم التقنية للمعلمين والإداريين وأولياء الأمور

• مهارات قوية في إدارة المشاريع والتخطيط الاستراتيجي

• شغف بالتكنولوجيا التعليمية ودعم نتائج الطلاب
