CAT II Linguist Positions – Valiant Integrated Services
General Responsibilities:
-
Perform accurate consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation between the target language and English.
-
Translate various syntax, expressions, colloquialisms, and slang phrases.
-
Provide cultural and ethnic context and guidance on statements, conversations, situations, and documents.
-
Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents accurately.
-
Work and travel in austere environments as required.
-
Perform other tasks as assigned.
1. Arabic Linguist – CAT II (MSA/Arabic DG)
Requirements:
-
Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Iraqi Arabic, and advanced English (Native-level preferred).
-
Experience in consecutive and written translation between Arabic and English.
2. Hebrew Linguist – CAT II
Requirements:
-
Proficiency in Hebrew and English (speaking and writing), Level 3/3 ILR or Native-level preferred.
-
Extensive knowledge of Hebrew culture and prior regional experience preferred.
-
Ability to understand standard dialect and vocabulary without frequent paraphrasing.
-
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Clearance Required: Secret
3. Hindi/Urdu Linguist – CAT II
Requirements:
-
Adequate hearing to perform duties safely and respond to alarms and instructions without visual cues (SPRINT test or approved waiver may be required).
-
Ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
-
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
-
Free from medical restrictions that prevent duty or use of PPE.
-
Ability to work in extreme conditions (heat, sand, low humidity, rain).
-
Willingness to work non-standard hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
4. Baluchi/Urdu Linguist – CAT II
Requirements:

Proficiency in Baluchi, Urdu, and English (Native-level or ILR 3/3 preferred).
-
Extensive knowledge of local culture and previous regional experience.
5. Somali Linguist – CAT II
Requirements:
-
Proficiency in Somali and English (Native-level or ILR 3/3 preferred).
-
Experience interpreting and translating Somali into English.
-
Ability to understand all speech in standard dialect and vocabulary without frequent paraphrasing.

Familiarity with local culture and customs.
-
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Clearance Required: Secret
