We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Research and Development team. Our ‘Mechanical Design’ team design, develop, and manufacture different drone structures, frames, and mechanical components for all the unmanned aerial vehicle systems. You will work in close collaboration with Aerospace, Production, Electronics, and Software teams for Component, Sub-system, and System design.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
Deliver exceptionally reliable mechanical components for UAV hardware by following the Design process.
Develop new products, from prototype to production, and flight testing.
Take ownership of your designed components and assemblies, including verification, testing, and documentation right from prototyping to product level design.
Skills and competencies:
Experience using CATIA (3D Experience) and SOLIDWORKS for part and assembly design.
Part modelling & printing the drawings, 3D sketching, advance surface modelling, geometric analysis.
Strong fundamentals in Engineering drawing, Engineering design, Material Science, Mechanics of Solids and Engineering Mechanics.
Given a problem statement, solve it using principles of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Mechanics in real life.
Develop, build, test prototypes, and do an iterative design to satisfy their functional requirements.
Produce standard designs using CAD software and create assembly prints, design documents, drawings, BOM and fabrication specifications.
Provide technical support during assembly and installation of equipment.
Good communication skills and comfortable collaborating with multiple teammates and interdepartmental stakeholders towards meeting tight deadlines.
Seldomly travel to the field to check the design functionality in the practical conditions.
Familiarity with multidisciplinary physics dependent component, Sub-system and System design.
Have an idea about the design tolerances (GD&T), manufacturing feasibility, and ASTM standards.
Experience using 3D printers, operating CNC machines, or generating toolpath using CAM software.
Has experience in handling, designing, or manufacturing IC engine and its components.
