Summary

This position is established as a Work and Family Life (WFL) Specialist. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer and counsel eligible personnel on various WFL issues and provide information and referral services at the designated installation. Programs and services are delivered, promoted and often coordinated with/through FFSC staff members and various stakeholders throughout the chain of command, military and civilian community.

Duties

Serves as a consultant and instructor on a variety of WFL topics and issues (see programs below). Provides informative and tangible advice, assistance, and instruction to address customer concerns, needs and requirements associated with Navy-life (deployment/separation; frequent relocation, transitioning from military to civilian life, etc.).

SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE (SAPR) VICTIM ADVOCATE (VA)

Provides 24/7 support for victims' immediate needs: assesses safety concerns, provides reporting options, provides information on available resources, and facilitates referrals. Serves as an advocate for the expressed interests of victims with all intervening agencies to include law enforcement, medical, and legal. Maintains follow-up contact with the victim as requested by the victim and accompanies the victim to appointments and civilian and military court proceedings, as appropriate and when requested by the victim. Supports victims in advocating on his/her behalf and provides assistance with prioritizing actions and establishing short- and long-term goals related to recovery from sexual assault.

Assists victims with contacting appropriate military and civilian legal offices for personal legal advice and assistance specific to the victim's circumstances or case, including the filing for civilian or military protective orders. Serves on the SAPR watch bill.

CYP CUSTODIAN

Summary

The Custodian performs a variety of cleaning, housekeeping, and semiskilled duties for CYP facilities: facility cleaning, equipment maintenance, laundering, minor facility repairs, outdoor maintenance; and maintaining inventories of cleaning supplies. They deliver supplies, merchandise, and equipment to other CYP facilities. As needed, they move furniture and/or program equipment, and assists with event setup (e.g., setting up tables and chairs. CYP PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Curriculum

Develops schedules and activity plans. This may include reviewing and providing input into schedules and activity plans developed by the entry level and intermediate level Educational Aids (CY Program Assistants), CY-1702-I. Ensures that program plans and activities incorporate the observed needs of individual children and youth.

Implements activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth. Incorporates special instructions provided by parents such as special dietary needs, physical needs, or other information that may affect the child or youth's experience in the program.

Prepares and implements program options for children and youth with special requirements. Cares for children and youth with special needs as directed by the supervisor.
