About the job
This position requires utilizing independent judgment and discretion, detailed analysis, and the ability to support the development of actuarial outputs and assumptions. This position reports into the Lead Actuary for Mena and works closely with other business areas, including but not limited to Sales, Underwriting, and Product Development, to develop and execute on strategic initiatives.
The scope of work will be across the Middle East and North Africa region.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting actuarial pricing for the Middle East and North Africa region, including experience studies, setting pricing assumptions, methodology updates, and rate reviews
Testing, and maintenance of pricing and underwriting tools
Support the monthly financial close, including supporting the reserving process, periodic review of key reserve assumptions, and communicating drivers of financial results relative to forecast.
Close collaboration and strategic leadership with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Finance, and other areas of business to unlock profitable growth strategies for inforce business and new opportunities in an emerging market with strong growth potential.
Support analytics related to medical cost drivers and trends to enhance quality of actuarial analysis and reporting.
Personal Profile
A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
Making good progress towards Associate credentials within Institute of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries.
Desirable to have Actuarial experience with health pricing or underwriting experience within the Middle East preferable
Ability to work remotely, be self-motivated and results driven
Embraces and thrives in an environment of rapid change
Proven track record of success within multi-functional and geographically diverse teams.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Access
Excellent English verbal and written skills
Some travel may be required.
