Structural Inspector
What You’ll Be Doing
The Structural Inspector under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.
Quality control inspections of works carried out on site by the contractor.
Keeps records of work carried out in the field. Reporting non-compliance to the Site Engineer. Keeping field records of site resources.
Advises Site Engineer of any site events that are likely to impede progress or cause non-compliance.
Keeps Safety Engineer informed of risky activities and non-compliance in the field.
Accepts approved requests for inspection from the Site Engineer and attend the site to witness tests to ensure compliance with the specification.
Checks contractor's materials on site and proper storage and handling on site.
Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writes daily diaries.
Assistant Resident Engineer (Roads)
What You’ll Be Doing
Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of infrastructure works related to civil, road and wet utilities.
Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.
Chair the meetings with the utilities agencies and any other meetings delegated by the Resident Engineer Utilities.
Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors, and other parties related to his work.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to utilities works and associated items.
Check and measure the performed work in his line of work, record and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work.
Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his line of work.
Land Surveyor
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Diploma in Civil Engineering with 8 years experience in cartography, GIS, geography, land survey, remote sensing, photogrammetry, surveying.
Knowledge of surveying procedures and instruments, engineering formulas.
Knowledge of drafting, arithmetic, geometry, calculus and engineering formulas, CADD drawings and maps.
Knowledge of CADD drawings and various maps, maps and drawings – draft maps and detailed working drawings, design and drawings – prepare and review engineering designs and drawings.
