Role Summary
Claims Surveyor is responsible and accountable for:
Managing the repair strategy by providing technical advice and expertise on the investigation, scoping of repair works and managing of the existing repairs programme.
Examine damaged vehicles within defined service standards.
Finalize motor surveyor report and submit to the claim handler and to provide expected repair costs.
Provide better advice and guidance to the motor department.
Key Responsibilities
· Visit allocated workshops on a daily basis, conduct in-depth vehicle inspections, photograph damage, and collect estimates, thoroughly verify documentation from workshops to ensure content is factual, accurate and within cost estimates. Examine damaged vehicles within defined service standards.
Finalize and complete daily motor surveyor report and submit to the Motor Claims Manager with photographs within one working day for processing, recoding, and filing.
Responsible for reducing the average cost per claim by negotiating repair cost with agency/panel garages.
Reporting on market feedback (i.e. any potential problem with a particular type of vehicle/model/garage) to Claims Surveying manager.
Proactive handling of all Partial and Total Loss cases through timely assessment and confirmation to the Motor Claims teams.
Provide continuous feedback to management on claims costs.
Constantly review service levels of workshops to ensure best quality, honesty, and maximum cost effectiveness of repairs.
Reduce number of total loss claims
Reduce cycle time for approval
Negotiate repairs estimations and controlling repairs cost.
Other duties and responsibilities as required assigned by line manager.
