Associate Scientific Editor Structure

We are looking for a dynamic scientific editor with a 1-year contract to join the editorial team of Structure. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any area of structural biology and biochemistry. Previous editorial experience is helpful but not required.
About the Role:
The Scientific Editor will join the editorial team of Structure, handling a broad spectrum of life science research articles and stay connected to a broad range of scientific topics.
The core responsibilities of this position include:
Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team to manage content and to shape and develop the journal.
Recruiting exciting research studies and reviews.
Assessing submitted research papers and making editorial recommendations, and overseeing the peer review process.
Work with authors and reviewers to publish exciting science across a range of topic areas.
Engaging the scientific community in their labs and at conferences to learn about scientific developments and establish relationships, representing Structure and Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions.
Build strong relationships with Cell Press journals on content and collaborative projects.
Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives.
