Our client builds on a Bahraini family’s longstanding history of almost 40 years in the marine industry. The company built pleasure yachts, traditional fishing boats and vessels for commercial & military applications.
Job Profile:
To carry out any required carpentry work to the required standards.
Role Outline:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor R&D Division.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Examine drawings and sketches to determine work required in a particular job.
2. Carry out carpentry work as directed, including minor repairs to furniture and equipment.
3. Maintain competence in the use of drills, saws, sanders, planes, general maintenance work in carpentry and joinery.
4. Select tools appropriate for the job to be carried out.
5. Prepare lists of materials required for construction and maintenance work.
6. Select and measure cuts of wood appropriate for the work to be carried out.
7. Check accuracy of work carried out using appropriate measuring tools.
8. Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to carpentry and tools used to ensure that safe working practices are observed.
Requirements & Skills:
· An ability to work as part of a team and with a minimum of supervision;
· Excellent carpentry skills.
· Basic wood work skills – Minimum level 1 (Average knowledge)
· Interior/Exterior furnishing skills – Minimum level 1 (Average knowledge)
· Tooling skills – Minimum level 1 (Average knowledge)
· Knowledge of tools/machines skills – Minimum level 1 (Average knowledge)
· Preferable working experience in marine industry
The salaries start at BD 160 and it can go higher based on the experience, moreover we will provide free shared accommodation that has free electricity and water, free transportation, medical insurance after completing probation of three months and an air ticket to home country every two years.
