Senior Compliance Officer
Main Objectives
The Senior Compliance Officer is a business supportive and compliance-disciplined individual who executes effective compliance framework and process within the company, and provides compliance reports and dashboards that translate into informed decision-making practices to support BAS unique business model and strategic plan. The Senior Compliance Officer will coordinate with all departments to identify, assess, and make recommendations that will manage and mitigate the company’s compliance risks, and will prepare Board level reports and dashboards.
Main Duties
o The Senior Compliance Officer implements and maintains a sound enterprise-wide integrated compliance management system (CMS), and conducts compliance awareness sessions for all BAS staff to ensure centralization and consistency of Compliance practice across the entire company.
o The Senior Compliance Officer prepares the day-to-day tasks and periodic reports as requested by the Manager of the Risk & Compliance Department to provide informative dashboards and reports to the executive management and board of directors.
o Responsible to prepare and review all Compliance Department documents annually – compliance plan, compliance policy, compliance procedure, compliance manual, etc. to follow international best practices and industry needs.
o Responsible to perform compliance assessment as per the annual plan. The compliance assessment will require the Senior Compliance Officer to examine the existing controls and documentation in the company that follow ICAO, IATA, EASA, ISO, Bahrain Civil Aviation Authorities, and international best practices to reduce compliance risk in the company.
o Responsible to write an official compliance assessment report with all the results and to prepare an updated compliance dashboard after completing the compliance assessment. The report and dashboard is needed to be shared with the executive management and board of directors to oversee the company’s overall compliance status and to make informative decisions.
o Responsible to implement ISO 37301 Compliance Management System (CMS) to conduct business following internationally recognized best practices across the company.
o Establish a high level of trust and credibility in the company to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
o Carries out other similar or related duties, as assigned by the department manager.
o Complying with company's and airport authorities Health, Safety & Security regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Law / Business Administration / Economics.
o Professional Certificate in Compliance from a recognized body such as GRC, ICA, CPA, CIA or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years experience in compliance.
Other Essential Requirements:
o Excellent writing skills and reporting skills in English.
o Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to analyze long reports and summarize data.
o Demonstrated experience in developing digital dashboards using the latest tools.
o Experience in compliance frameworks and international best practices.
o Good knowledge of preparing board level reports.
